Since the COVID-19 pandemic started, online platforms have been all the rage, with a lot of people turning to them for their shopping needs, and to be honest, I am one of them. However, I am the type of person who rarely makes purchases online, as I am worried about getting scammed or being dissatisfied with the products I buy. It was only recently that I became confident in what I buy online, as I finally figured out how to ensure that the product and the store I purchase from are reliable. Lately, I've been into makeup, and most of my online purchases revolve around makeup products. I prefer shopping online for makeup because you can get a lot of discounts, and sometimes the stores throw in freebies.

This month, I ordered from Shopee. I have been using Shopee for my online purchases because it is the platform I am most comfortable with, and most of my family members use it too. One thing I like about this app is that you can earn coins through their in-app games. I also get a lot of discounts by following tips online. I recently ordered a buy-one-take-one, 2-in-1 lipstick. This product has been very popular on TikTok because it is claimed to be a dupe of a famous brand. There were many positive reviews, and I couldn't help but be curious and purchase the product myself. Just as the reviews said, the product was great, and I ended up liking and purchasing it for the second time.


Shopee offers lots of payment options such as Shopee Pay, Sea Bank, Spay Later, COD (Cash on Delivery), e-wallet, credit/debit card, online banking, linked bank account, and even Google Pay. I choose COD because that is what I am more comfortable using. There are many news stories about scammers on online payment platforms, which is why I opted to use COD as my mode of payment.

When purchasing online, I always consider things like product reviews—whether a lot of people like the product or have had bad experiences. Next is the shop rating; I always check whether the shop is liked by many. I also check the number of purchases; the more, the better. I also check if the shop has a “preferred” label, meaning a lot of people like the shop or the products.

My experience with using Shopee for online shopping has been largely positive. I find the platform user-friendly and enjoy the variety of products available, especially the discounts and freebies on makeup items. The payment process is straightforward, and I appreciate the multiple payment options, even though I prefer Cash on Delivery for added security. The app’s in-app games and tips for earning discounts make shopping fun and rewarding. Overall, Shopee has made online shopping convenient and enjoyable, boosting my confidence in purchasing items online.

She doesn't care if it took her a few minutes as long as she is sure that the product we are going to purchase is of high quality.
